Welcome to our farm
We are a small biodynamic farm specializing in products we make from our honey, herbs and heirloom vegetables. We use no pesticides, fungicides or chemical fertilizers in any of our products. We proudly offer simple, old-fashioned body, beauty and health products made with the "fruits" of our labor. [more...]
How are your bees?
2009 is looking to be a great year here at the farm! We went into winter with 38 hives and came out with 31. We have received reports that bee loss here in the Ohio area is 70-90%. While we are sad about those numbers, we are ecstatic to see tangible evidence that our beekeeping method experiments are paying off. We are watching our hives very closely, as the bees are very vigorous in our surviving hives and we expect a lot of expansion due to swarming!
What do you think is happening to the bees?
Cell phone towers, bacteria levels, an Israeli virus, pesticides or bio-engineered crops, we hear these theories and more from our regular customers. Do we think that any of these are the reason for the recent decline? The answer is NO…and YES. [learn why]
